Praise God! Tomorrow evening (7:30) marks another Men’s Ministry and Fellowship at the church. We thank our Lord and Savior for blessing AMFB with men ready to live for Christ and fellowship with one another in positivity and love. Every 2nd Friday of the month, they join together to talk about how to become better husbands, fathers, men of integrity, and disciples for the kingdom. What a time!
Bible Study last night was definitly on point. God put it on Pastor’s heart to take a break from the book of Revelation in order to share an enlightening video which focused on, How to share your faith…Simply, Effectively, and Biblically. The focus study was that many people get caught up in the ideology that Jesus has a wonderful plan for their lives. The ‘wonderful plan’ message is very popular with many Christians because they perceive wonderful as bliss, happiness, all-good, and other selfish driven things. Unfortunately, this has become mainstream teaching although it is completely unbiblical. Jesus suffered. Why shouldn’t we? When sinners come to Christ, we should thrist for RIGHTEOUSNESS. We must trust in him at all costs. Our walk shouldn’t be about our selfishness in desiring a wonderful life. Our walk should be to get closer to thee and ensure our salvation!
It’s difficult to witness to a person who is at the epitome of happiness in their lives. In other words, the person (and so-called Christian) with the million dollar home, the two luxury sedans,
the fat bank account, the dream career, etc., already feels they have been blessed by God due to all they have and how happy it makes them. Nevermind if they don’t give God the glory. Nevermind if Jesus isn’t first and foremost in their lives. Nevermind your Christ banter. The bottom line is that you don’t have half of what they do; so God’s wonderful plan is working in their lives.
Ever wonder why we equate being blessed with when things are in our favor? Think about it. Fellow Christians, we are blessed…all of us. Someone out here always has it worse than you do. So, before displaying an envious spirit because you feel that someone is being blessed more than you, thank God that you were able to wake up this morning. There is someone out here who needs an oxygen tank to breathe. Praise God for the ability to inhale air on your own.
We at AMFB would like to thank Tinesha Thomas for her loyal dedication as choir director. At just about nine months pregnant, she continues to encourage and motivate Behind The Cross to excellence. We praise God for keeping her steadfast. We love and appreciate you Mrs. Thomas!
This past Sunday, pastor resumed his sermon continuing from within the book of Acts 3:12-26. In this chapter, Peter speaks to the onlookers multiple times. He used the text to show us that we must focus on the main issue at hand, as Peter did. Have you ever denied Christ through thought, word, or deed? If you choose not to follow the will of God, you choose Satan and his path…point blank! Jesus’ blood was shed for all our sins. If you reject him, you choose sin. There is no middle ground. Many of us Christians like to take comfort in the fact that Jesus died for our sins. True, but we need to get out of our comfort zones. We are becoming too complacent in our Christian walk. So, let’s put it into another perspective, shall we? Our sins killed Christ! Ouch, huh? Well, try thinking of it that way to never forget. Now, let’s not allow his death and resurrection to be in vein. Let’s live for him with all we have and fight for our spot in Heaven because everyone’s time on this earth is limited; some sooner than later, but we know not the day or hour. Start getting ready today. No. Start now!
