“DECREASE FOR HIS INCREASE”
Wow! Time moves so quickly…4th Saturday is here before we knew it. Our Womens Homeless Shelter Ministry is today at 5:30pm. This is a ministry that is about 5 years old…close to the same age as our church itself. We look forward to our once monthly visit and opportunity to spread the Gospel of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Sunday was awesome as we worshipped in praise, announcements, prayer, fellowship, and giving. We worshipped in hearing the preached word of God, by our very own Pastor Stephen Joyce in a sermon titled, HOW TO WORK EFFECTIVELY FOR GOD. The sermon derived from Matthew 6:27, but also touched on 1st Corinthians 3:9, 1st Timothy 4:10, and 2nd Timothy 4:7&8. What are you passionate for in life? In order to work effectively for Christ, we must keep the 5 E’s in mind: Enthusiasm, Earnestness, Expectation, Endurance, and End. The work is plenty, but the laborers are few. Too many of us in the church think that it doesn’t take that much; You think that going to church on Sunday is adequete in your walk with Him. Walking requires working! Granted, there are different degrees to what each person is capable of doing for various reasons, but we are all able to contribute. Think about how smoothly a church would run if EACH MEMBER would commit to one task and do it to the best of their ability. That would probably eliminate fatigue in the people who have taken on multiple tasks to uplift their church.

It isn’t easy to make time in this busy life of hustle and bustle, but it is possible. Ask yourself, “Am I working for the food that spoils or the eternal life food?” Too many church folk are born again “Christian Diors”. Christ didn’t die for us to acquire the things of this world. Sure, we want to be comfortable, but securing our salvation isn’t an easy road. It takes work…work within our church walls and outside of them, making time to be available for outreach ministries; to be a blessing to someone else.
We also welcomed Dr. and Mrs. Augutin Hibaile from the Central African Republic. He came to share a slide show of his church and the different ministries he and his wife are a part of over in Bangui, Africa. They have a lot of orphans in that area due to the AIDS epidemic. They also have a womens ministry that Mrs. Hibalie is the head of. The luxuries that we have here are nonexistent in that area. We think we have issues. Over there, lack of clean water is an issue. Safety is an issue. Transportation is an issue. Famine and disease are issues. We praise God for their passion for God…their Kingdom work, love, care, and commitment to the people who need them most. About My Father’s Business Outreach Ministries was happy to pray with them and give them a donation for their cause. If you weren’t there Sunday and want to contribute or you were there and want to give more, please contact us to find out how.
As we leave one productive week to move into the next, we pray that God order our steps and convict our hearts to do more, to be more involved, to take our salvation and the salvation of others very seriously…seriously enough to pray more and work harder in Christ.
Tomorrow, our Pastor and our choir are travelling to minister at Penn Valley Grace Brethren Church in Souderton, PA. Penn Valley is the headquaters of Grace Brethren North American Missions (GBNAM) and we are honored that our Pastor and choir are scheduled to be part of their service. Pastor Kevin Mincey of Disciples of Faith, will be our guest preacher tomorrow.

“THY WILL BE DONE”
The Mother’s Day sermon this past Sunday was such a delight! Pastor Joyce preached about Mary, mother of Jesus…her obedience, love, and sacrifice to do the will of God. The path Mary took wasn’t an easy one. She endured, through God’s love and her faith in Him.
We praise God for all our mothers and we pray for them to look at Mary as an example of acceptance, love, and faith in our Lord and Saviour.
Also during service, there was a baby dedication portion for the Thomas family’s latest addition, Kamryn Thomas. Grandparents, aunts, siblings, God-parents, and more were all happy to be part of this joyous occasion. We love you Kamryn!

“BE YE NOT AFRAID”
Sunday was beautiful. We thank God for our church…the building itself which God has allowed us to have for worship, but more importantly are the people that come to the building for the truth and deliverance. We praise The Lord for the visitors, regulars, and members that were able to come and hear the powerful sermon ”Courageous Christians“. Pastor Joyce preached from Revelation 21:8; while also touching on 1st Chronicles 28:20 and Acts 4:18-20. Fear and faith mustn’t co-exist. Worldly courage is the opposite of Godly courage. Often times, we stand up for the things of this world, but fail to have that same zeal when approached with the opportunity to speak out or show action for our faith in God. Church people today need to lift their heads and not be ashamed of being a Christian. We must be proud to have a connection and assoication with our Lord and Saviour, in and outside of the church walls.
Wonderful word!!
Also, this was first Sunday. So we had the priviledge of eating and drinking of the body of Christ during communion.
And let’s not forget the Love Feast Dinners prepared by our lovely Usher Board…baked turkey wings, macaroni & cheese, green beans, dinner rolls, and much more. Thanks ladies!
Last night, our choir began rehearsing a new song, as well as fine tuning other songs to sing for this coming Sunday. For their willingness and obedience to use their voices to uplift the Kingom of God, we rejoice.
We look forward to seeing you at Bible Study this evening at 7:30. This Gospel Transformation series has been actively running for several months. It has opened a lot of eyes and has led to true transformation within many…in every sense of the word. Don’t be surprised to receive your epiphany while there. God is good. We all know that to be true. Let’s take the extra step to be more involved in the ministries that He has allowed to be put in place for us to spiritually benefit.
This coming Friday, May 11th at 7:30pm is the Men’s Leadership Fellowship. All men interested in becoming stronger in God, better husbands and/or fathers, or who just want to be surrounded by like-minded Christian men who are striving to do it God’s way instead of their own…AMFB is the place for you to be this Friday night. Bring a friend!
Saturday May 12th, is our trip to Six Flags, hosted by Daddy5 Productions. It isn’t to late to come along. Call us for more info or see Shaprina Jones.

“NONE LIKE YOU”
Sunday’s service…what a glorious time! The Holy Spirit flowed throughout every moment. Thank you Pastor Doug for allowing God to use your beautiful singing voice to minister to everyone present. You shocked a lot of people! Where does that big voice come from? Praise The Lord!
We were also privileged to receive an upbeat and holy sermon, courtesy of Pastor Rough. We thank your church home (Liberty Grace / PA) for allowing us to borrow you for the weekend. Both of you are so great…I’m sure they missed you as much as we enjoyed having you. We look forward to having you again. In Pastor Rough’s words, “Different races, serving the same God; what a wonderful thing!”
