We praise the Lord for our many blessings. We thank Him for a church of people we can call family; as well as a church who aims to reach the lost. Smile

The last couple of weeks have been pretty consistent in Christ with our regularly scheduled daily tasks. Our Sunday services–annointed, our Wednesday evening Bible Study’s–enlightening, our various Friday night Ministries (Men’s, Women’s, and Marriage)–uplifting, and our 4th Saturday Women’s Homeless Sheleter Ministry, which takes place today, continues to be a vessel of strength for them and for each of us who participate in it.

As we often say, we’d love to see more come out to be a part of this. It is not a sad place to be…we bring joy and positivity with us. It’s a good time in the Lord, while also reaching someone who needs Him. Remember, there is strength in numbers! Let’s make 2007 our year of getting more involved than we ever have.

“BE A TEMPLE”

Monday…our weekly day of rest, reflection, and rejuvenation.

The Gospel Transformation series of Bible Study is a phenomenal, life altering class for all who have committed to being a part of it.  The focus of Wednesday’s lesson was Galations 5:22-23 and the goal was to learn more about the fruit of the spirit; to strengthen our understanding of the relationship between the Spirit’s work and our obedience; and to distinguish between good fruit and its counterfeit.  Achieved!  What an excellent lesson!!  We praise God for out continued learning through our Bible Study classes.

Saturday was an AWESOME experience!  For anyone who didn’t come out to see the Gospel stage play ”Just When You Least Expect It”, you truly missed a blessed, anointed, and rare treat.  Minister Eric Jones along with his sister Lawanda created a divine vision for capturing comedy, sadness, contempt, and joy all on one stage.  The actors were phenomenal and the talent was beautiful…straight from the Lord.  We pray that the play will get picked up by a major investor and/or sponsor to get the type of exposure it needs.  It’s soul-stirring, riveting, and has the potenial to be a vessel to save many lost souls.  Any inquiries on how to get a DVD of the show, please go to www.daddy5productions.com

Yesterday, Pastor Joyce preached from Romans Chapter 12 verses 1&2 in a sermon titled, “Fully Concecrated”.  We need to renew and transform our minds.  We have to stop attempting to follow the world.  If you don’t have the Spirit of God living within you, you are not of God.  Christ shouldn’t be an addition to your life, He should be your entire life.  We must honor Him in the presentation of our bodies, in our life dedication, and in our minds.  Don’t say that you will die for your faith, if you won’t even begin to take the necessary steps to live for Him.  We have to realize that as Christians, we set the bar.  We must stop being luke warm like the church of Laodacia.  We must be willing and ready to set ourselves apart…devote ourselves completely to God at all times.  Anything else isn’t good enough for the one that gave His only son, that we may have life.

“RECEIVE IT”

We were blessed to have quite a few members from Grace at Calvert, in worship with us this Sunday.  We are thankful for their presence and their loving spirits.

Our rose vases were full!  We have an every Sunday tradition at AMFB; if you have shared your faith…shared the Gospel with someone during the course of that week, place a rose in the vase.  Let us not be ashamed.  Let’s proclaim and rejoice to all!!

Minister Eric Jones delivered the sermon he titled, “Age Ain’t Nothin’ But A Number”.  The sermon was preached from 1st Timothy 4:9-16.  Ever felt that someone didn’t know what they were talking about because they were young in age?  Ever associate being elderly or older in age with wisdom?  Well, being older doesn’t automatically qualify you as wise.  Strong, positive, Christian examples can be set through believers of all ages.  Wisdom comes through Christ our Lord!  There are a lot of older people who are immature in Christ and many young people that are mature in His word.  As a young leader, Timothy had to deal with the challenge of earning the respect of his elders.  But he had to set the example through his speech, life, love, faith, and purity.  Timothy’s lesson to us is that we must live so others can see Christ within us.  Regardless of our ages, God can use each and every one of us in some way.  We have to get out of our own way and follow Christ’s commands to labor for the Kingdom by using our gifts to glorify God.

We praise God for the deliverance of His word.  Great job Minister Jones!

Reminders:  1) Everyone who desires a closer relationship with God; anyone who serious about being on a true path to becoming a better person…a better Christian, please press your way out to our Wednesday night Bible Study class at 7:30pm.  2) Choir rehearsals are now on Thursday evenings only.  Rehearsal time still begins promptly at 6pm.  If you have a musical gift (vocal or instrumental) that you’d like to share to increase our ministry, as well as a great team attitude, come check out our choir (Behind The Cross) during their next rehearsal.  Let Tinesha (our Choir Director) and our Pastor know your intentions and you may be well on your way to becoming a part of our anointed music ministry!  3) This coming Saturday (June 9th), the gospel stage play Just When You Least Expect It, is in effect.  It’s not too late to get tickets.  For more details, visit www.daddy5productions.com
